No coding experience required. No terminal. Just download three apps and sign in.
Sign up for a Claude subscription
Any paid plan works (Pro is fine). The free plan won't give you what you need.
Sign up at claude.ai/upgradeInstall the Claude Desktop app
This is the Claude chat interface, plus Cowork (Claude's assistant that can work with files on your computer). Sign in with the same account from step 1.
Install VS Code + Claude Code
VS Code is a free code editor from Microsoft. Once installed, open it and install the Claude Code extension — this is what we'll use to build live. Don't worry, you won't need to type code yourself.
Download VS CodeThen install the extension:
1. Open VS Code
2. Click the Extensions icon on the left sidebar (or press Cmd+Shift+X / Ctrl+Shift+X)
3. Search for “Claude Code” (publisher: Anthropic)
4. Click Install, then sign in when prompted
Stuck on any step?
Open the Claude Desktop app and ask Claude for help — it can walk you through anything. You can also reply to the confirmation email you'll get after signing up and I'll help directly.
